AYJNISH Correctional Facility

The Brief

AYJNISH(D), a correctional facility for differently-abled kids , sought to enhance its newly renovated wing by creating custom designs for each room. The aim was to make the learning environment more engaging and visually stimulating for the students.

The Challenge

The project faced tight timelines, with over 17 rooms requiring unique designs to be completed within a month. Coordinating with various stakeholders within the school added complexity to the project execution.

The Objective

Our objective was to develop bespoke designs for each learning space, ensuring they were not only aesthetically appealing but also aligned with the educational goals of the school. The entire design-to-implementation process was targeted to be completed within a week.

The Process

  • Site Assessment: We conducted a thorough assessment of the spaces to recommend suitable materials that would complement the envisioned designs.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engaging with teachers, therapists, and school administrators, we gathered inputs and feedback to tailor the designs to the specific needs of the students and educators.
  • Research and Conceptualization: Extensive research was conducted to understand the educational requirements and interests of the students, leading to the creation of unique and meaningful design concepts for each classroom.
  • Design Execution: Each room received a distinctive design theme, carefully curated to foster a conducive learning environment while maintaining a cohesive visual identity across all spaces.

The Results

Despite the challenging timelines, Mockingbird Studios successfully delivered the project ahead of schedule, with precise installation and no post-installation corrections required. The transformed spaces received positive feedback from the school community, enhancing the overall learning experience for the students.
